Inauguration of Satlantis France on October 10, 2024
SATLANTIS announces the official inauguration of its new entity, Satlantis France, took place on October 10th at the ESTIA Campus within the Izarbel Technology Park in Bidart.
This event marks a significant milestone in SATLANTIS’ international expansion and its commitment to strengthening its presence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, at the heart of the European space ecosystem.
An international scientific and technical enterprise
At SATLANTIS we currently employs nearly 150 people across our locations: the Headquarters in Spain (Basque Country, Bilbao), SATLANTIS US in the United States (Innovation Hub, University of Florida), SuperSharp in the United Kingdom (University of Cambridge spinout) and now France. Our Group designs, provides and operates Earth observation microsatellites capable of capturing high-resolution images in the visible and near-infrared spectrums, thanks to its exclusive iSIM instrument technology onboard. These technological capabilities allow the generation of images with unparalleled precision, that can be used in various fields such as environmental monitoring and natural resource management.
Satlantis France SAS, based in Bidart, specializes in the processing and enhancement of satellite images. This new center of expertise stands as a strategic pillar for the Group’s growth, providing strong complementarity to its core business. By capitalizing on local expertise and the region’s excellence in research, Satlantis France will play a key role in optimizing image processing performance.
Support for Satlantis France’s Establishment
Satlantis France has benefited from the support of Basque Invest for its establishment, along with the backing of its partners, including the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the Basque Country Agglomeration Community, and the Bayonne Basque Country Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Business France Iberica and Estia Entreprendre also actively contributed to this success.

A Partnership with ESTIA to accelerate innovation
The inauguration of Satlantis France also marks the official launch of a technological collaboration with the ESTIA Engineering School. This collaboration, supported by France 2030, will focus on developing innovative projects in image processing and satellite data exploitation, promoting the technological and scientific expertise of both entities. This partnership is part of a local effort to strengthen the space sector’s influence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Satlantis France is launching a recruitment campaign to strengthen its teams and attract talent passionate about space and new technologies. Opportunities will be available in the fields of satellite observation, image processing, and space data enhancement.
